Spirited Away Symbolism

Also, the symbolisms in both films were very import, so is the point of view because it helps to bring the movies to life. From the narrator’s point of view, the magical feeling of the bathhouse and the ship were breathtaking. Both stories were told from a third persons’ point of view. The audiences were only allowed to see what was happening to the characters throughout the movies; however, they were not able to see what they were feeling or thinking. For example, in “Spirited Away” there were many scenes were Lin or Haku, two characters development, helping Chihiro to succeed; the storyteller didn’t provide any information as to why they were helping her or the audience couldn’t tell what these two minor characters were thinking. In “Spirited Away”, Miyazaki shows his audiences how beautiful the bathhouse and the ship were. The audiences saw examples of the many different objects the director used to illustrate his thought without actually using words. The movies developed at the bathhouse and the in the ocean. At the bathhouse, in “Spirited Away”, examples shown how Chihiro developed her skills and maturity to be the strong person she become, and in, “Ponyo” the audience also saw examples of Ponyo’s endurance to be a human, and it was equally important to stress that the ocean in this movie is very important because this is where Ponyo found friendship in Sosuke. Additionally Sosuke’s house played an important part in the film because this is where Ponyo learned the traits of becoming a human being. Miyazaki also displayed to his audiences how powerful Ponyo became. Examples shown how Ponyo’s father was amazed that she was so strong and he could not control her; perhaps the reason why, is because she had tasted human DNA and also because she was determined to be a human; her endurance strength her abilities to achieve the power she gain – something Miyazaki did to explain to his audiences, which leaves his audiences grueling for
