Does your school have a Spirit week? At konawaena high this is a one week of school pride and enjoyment in a standard school calendar year. This years Spirit week is composed of pajamas day, retro day, identical twin day, dynamic duo day, and everyone in Green day respectively. moreover it doesn't matter what themes a school chooses for Spirit week it depends on the amount of Spirit that is put into each day. Overall spirit week is chiefly significant due to school pride, higher morale, and social reasons.

School pride in my opinion is one of the most important values for a school to have. school pride creates a sense of unity, it causes everyone feel like they are part of something bigger than themselves. This could affect their everyday choices such as weather they are going to do their homework or not. Moving on school pride inspires a commitment in students. This commitment is what will keep students from dropping out of high school and keep them trying hard in their classes. Furthermore school pride compels students to be proud of their school in general. This could cause a high attendance to school events and more enthusiasm at school assemblies. The higher morale is caused by the playfulness and foolishness going on during spirit week. This puts students in a better mood to learn than the usual lethargic mood. Consequently, teachers are in a better mood because of the ready to learn attitude of the students have which as a result causes the teacher's job to be easier and more enjoyable. Due to the teachers exuberant mood the students day gets even better making it a win win situation for everyone.
