Spirit Fire

Star-fire burned Frost’s tail. She whipped it out of the flame. The huge night dragon behind her roared in anger as she breathed her frozen fire and hit him. She dived down, seeing a narrow tunnel where the night dragon would not fit. She would be there in three, two, one. . . . Smash!
Frost jumped awake and was confused. Where was she? She heard a growl and realized she was in the tunnel and had smashed into a wall. She glided through the tunnel slowly, so she didn’t hit another wall.
After what felt like hours, the tunnel sloped up, and Frost flew into the sky.
When Frost got to the ice dragon kingdom, she went straight to the sleeping chamber for all of the dragons that are her age. Snow and Ice were already there. She snuck

Her heart sank when she saw a whole group of night dragons behind him. “Give us the egg,” said one.
“Never!” screamed Frost.
Frost scratched any dragon she could, but it wasn’t enough. She was pressed backwards until her foot touched the egg. Warmth flowed from her leg to the rest of her body, turning her purple. She breathed fire, and it made all the night dragons flee—all but one: the huge one that she had fought with a week ago. She growled with hate and her eyes narrowed. Apparently, one of each kind of dragon could change colour. Starshade, a night dragon, and Frost were now joined by the other two: Sky, a wind dragon; and Firefly, a life dragon. They all had powerful fire.
Frost, Starshade, Sky, and Firefly flew out of the tunnel. They were going to try to save the ice dragons. Frost flew into the air and spun around quickly. Should mere suggestion prove insufficient, Frost can send a surge of energy into the mind of another person, overwhelming their body with her consciousness and allowing her to take possession of their faculties for a limited amount of time while leaving her own unattended. Frost can 'suggest' to any amount of minds within a certain radius of herself--generally 60 miles--though such a feat can and will become taxing. Mere mental manipulations are not the full extent of Emma Frost's abilities, and while the above abilities are quite useful they do not serve Frost in every situation. In the event that Frost must act quickly in her defense, she is capable of channeling a bolt of pure psychic energy from her brain to the brain of another person.…

Forest Name: Quiet Ash Grove (Devil's Playground, Faustian Forest) Riding I: The Prowling Wolf, He is Caring __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Winters in Jump City, California were rarely bothersome and cruel, quite the opposite in fact. By night, when the shadows ruled the land, small flakes of snow would fall from dark clouds above, and bless the earth with its magnificent beauty and form. Water would freeze where it stood, and create the crystal-like pieces we have come to know as icicles. The trees would become bare, not a single leaf upon them, and all the greenery would fade out and perish almost immediately, but it was a price that was necessary to be paid for the charming winter décor.…

Robert Frost’s “Desert Places” is a somber, introspective journey through a barren landscape choked by the smothering presence of snowfall. Although the poem begins with a lens trained on the surrounding landscape, the narrator’s thoughts eventually turn inward by the final stanza as the narrator compares the current frozen landscape to the vast desert of isolation and loneliness within himself. Frost utilizes repetition to both emphasize the rhythm of snow and night descending and to underscore the sensations felt by the narrator as he travels by his lonesome on the path before him. As the poem closes, the narrator comes to a realization which is—in a way—comforting but equally frightening: the pervading chill and darkness around cannot scare…
