British Columbia is part of the Western Cordillera. The Western Cordillera a strand of mountains formed that stretch across the shore of the pacific ocean, some of the mountains rising up to 3000 meters in height and is approximately 800km wide. Fishing and swimming is a very popular activity in Vancouver because it is along the coastline. In British Columbia there is over 20,000 km of coastline and 25,000 lakes and rivers. The chinook fish is one of the most popular fish to catch. The chinook fish weighs around 70 lb and is the prize trophy of all the fish to catch. Forestry is a popular job in British Columbia because 60 million hectares of the land is covered in trees. These trees can be used for log houses and cabins, fire wood, paper, furniture and many more items.
