For this project, I was given the task to research what resources are available in the community for individuals who have sustained a brain injury/spinal cord injury. This information will be given to the medical doctor of the inpatient rehabilitation unit at Our Lady of the Lake. She needed a list of resources, such as counseling services and support groups to provide to patients once they were discharged from the hospital. This was to ensure that patients were able to follow up after their injury. The overall ease of this project was moderate. I contacted many places within the Baton Rouge Area to determine if they provided the services I was looking for. Gathering information has its drawbacks, such as organizations not returning your calls, but I believe it was a successful project since I was able to locate multiple resources. …show more content…
Monique assisted me on this project. I asked her to review the list of resources I complied. I also asked her for advice and/or suggestions on format and length on the detail/information. Although, she has not gotten a chance to review the information upon the submission of this project. However, after receiving her feedback I will make any additional changes and move forward with sending the information to the medical doctor. I learned a lot about the different resources available for patients who suffered from these injuries and definitely unaware of the programs and services
