Although considered a strength, the location of Spike Island Adventure can also be considered a threat for a number of reasons. One main reason why the location would be a threat is due to the transport to and from the island. The business is reliant on the ferry, based in Cobh harbour, to transport visitors to and from the island and also have speedboats that can carry up to 12 passengers to and from the island. However, this poses as a threat as there a limited spaces on the boats so it would make it difficult to attract the walk-in market or the cruise tourists as the demand will exceed the amount of boats available and also the amount of seats available on the transport to and from the island will be insufficient. Although Spike Island Adventure offer a unique product, they may still be faced with strong competition, from other organisations who are competing with the adventure centre both indirectly and directly, in the same market. This can pose as a threat to Spike Adventure due to the other threats mentioned previously.
