First of I can not believe that is going to be 20 years this July since you released your debut single Wannabe that topped the charts in 31 countries. Now I must give a disclaimer to those viewing this letter. I, myself was born the same year -- 1996 -- that the Spice Girls first stormed the music scene. It was until later on in my elementary school years that I discovered the Spice Girls through my brother’s videotape Spice Girls: One Hour of Girl Power. By the group had been disbanded. What probably made you guys stand out from other manufactured pop groups that came out in the late 90s/early 2000s era was that you guys had great chemistry. That’s probably why you’re up there with TLC and Destiny’s Child.

The backstory to how the Spice

You guys had countless hits on both sides of the Atlantic. And your music was beyond enjoyable. Your guy’s music was perfecting crafted bubblegummy pop that kids crave along with tongue-in-cheek positive lyrics. Also, how could we not forget what you guys stood for which was: girl power. It no surprise that you fan base consisted young girls and gay guys. I’d probably be a mess if it weren’t for your free-spirited lyrics. What I love the most was you guys stood out individually. Ginger Spice was known for her fiery red hair, her very cheeky attitude as well as the Union Jack dress she looked smoking hot in when she wore at the 1997 Brit Awards. Posh Spice was known for her awesome sense of style as she known to rock a bob with high-end designer clothes (which she slayed in), with high heels to match. Scary Spice made famous with her in-your-face attitude and tendency to wear cheetah inspired outfits along with high platform shoes. Plus, she helped diversify the group (she’s the only one of color). Sporty Spice was always known wearing tracksuits and showcasing her athletic abilities. I mean, have not watched Wannabe where did a backflip. And last but not least, Baby Spice. She was the youngest with a very innocent vibe and had baby doll dresses to match. You guys were at the top of the world. Most of the world collected all your merchandise: the lunchboxes, …show more content…
And the same way teenage girls went crazy when Zayn left One Direction last year, is the same reaction to Ginger leaving in May 1998. Of course not long after you guys released your last album in 2000 before calling it quits. But then you guys did your own thing as solo acts. You guys all released at least one solo album before venturing into other endeavors. Mel B, you had Eddie Murphy’s baby and you judge America’s Got Talent. Victoria Beckham, you’ve made a killing in the fashion world and married soccer hottie David Beckham. Ginger Spice your full time mom and you recently got married. Emma Bunton you are slaying the radio airwaves with your own show. And Mel C just loves giving us music which is way different from the Spice Girls

Colin Larkins argued that Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band was an album that revolutionized, changed and re-invented the boundaries of modern popular music (Larkins, 1994). In light of the facts that were pointed out in this essay, Larkins' statement seems to be correct. To go even further in this consideration, it can be argued that the Beatles revolutionized popular music, and popular culture as well. Abraham Lincoln once said “Achievement has no color,” along with a speech stating that the nation “shall have a new birth of freedom,” and will follow the constitution that “all people are created equal” (Wikipedia). Like his cry for equality, a woman by the name of Viola Davis at the Emmy’s, made a similar cry; although she may not be a president addressing the union, textually both have the same message— equality. The TV industry has negatively and positively influenced not only women but women of color.…

Eva has graced many cover photos such as Vogue, Marie Claire and Harper’s Bazaar, she is much more than just a beautiful women as people see her. What impressed me the most about her is that she is smart, down to earth, and outspoken. Social and political issues are her main concern which include immigration reform, labour laws for farm workers and the roles available for Latinos/Latinas in Hollywood.
