Sperm And Anne's Relationship Essay

Improved Essays
“The relationship between the members of the Annex was often a volatile one, but they would not have survived without one another”. I was asked whether I agree or disagree with this statement. I definitely agree that without one another it would have been a harder time for them, but I’m not sure that I would say that without one of these people, everyone else would have died. They all needed one or some of these people in the Annex in order to stay sane or to keep a relationship in their lives.
Pim and Anne’s relationship was not like your typical father-daughter relationship. Although Anne needed him for a role model, he seemed to like his daughter Margot more than he liked her. Anne needed someone with wisdom like her father in the Annex.

Amelia Gray’s Gutshot Amelia Gray in her two short stories The Moment of Conception and Fifty Ways to Eat Your Lover preserves and capitalizes her consistency to deliver grotesque, surreal parables that mask the simple attributes of the human condition to love, understand love, and the surreal journey as well as the destination that love can take one person. In The Moment of Conception Gray manages to capsulate the desire and emotional drive for her characters in the first sentence of the story, "We wanted a child so badly!" (Gray 138). And the dissection of this sentence can not only lay out a schematic for Gray’s writing style, but also acts as a way of immediately implementing characterization into the couple by making…

The Egg and the Sperm implies that science has constructed a romance, based on stereotypical male and female roles. Martin’s stereotype implications suggest that, “female biological processes are less worthy than their male counterparts but also that women are less worthy.” (Martin 846) The sperm is so commonly portrayed as the superior reproductive organ, and the egg a degenerate and dislodging reproductive part. According to the essay, “the egg is portrayed as a damsel in distress, shielded only by her sacred garments; and the sperm as heroic warrior to the rescue.”…
