This paper seeks to understand speeding as a target health-risk related behavior that I would like to change. After observing my speeding habits for 3-5 days, I will create a plan that uses operant conditioning in hopes of understanding and creating better driving habits. I try to understand a personal experience of how speeding has effected my life and in what ways do I feel I can or cannot control it. I will go into detail on what kinds of stimuli offer better environments for speeding and also understand my psychological state of mind at the time. Antecedents, which are interventions designed to alter the environment before a behavior occurs, can be identified as culture, behavior, and person. These three factors can also be easily related to as consequences if speeding has a negative effect, such as an accident. Important to note is after I complete my observation, and implement my plan with operant conditioning and the Transtheoretical Model (TTM), I will analyze the data and explain what behavioral modifications

The plan was as follows; If I saw a speeding sign and I was within a 5mph, above or below the speed limit, I could have a piece of my favorite dove dark chocolate. Well, that was a failure because I soon came to realize that the reward that is given has to be something that you treasure all the time; I do not want to eat chocolate that often. So I came up with another plan which went as follows; If I saw a speeding sign and I was within 5mph, above or below the speed limit, I could donate $1 into my vacation fund. I kept a log in my car, which helped to keep track because I used a tally system. However, this system just counted overtime I succeeded not the times I was outside of the 5mph leigh way. For a total of five days I implemented my positive reinforcement and made a total of $87 dollars for vacation fund, which came from my spending
