If it were implemented for a day to be spent in jail no matter what the crime is, the effect would cause for less crimes to be committed overall. This could be due to people not wanting to spend time in jail for what they can easily be avoid such as speeding or parking violations. As a result of this, it causes for each person to become more careful and think before what they do. Indirectly, deaths could also be lowered because speeding and jaywalking are two causes for death. Also this would lead for crime rates to drop overall, protecting citizens for the better and making sure everyone is safe.
