Speedball Monologue

The Paintball Life "Go! Go! Rush through it! He's the only one left! Go! Go! Goooo!" Purple smoke is only thing between me and the enemy player. Heart is racing, shoots are still being fired from both sides of the field. Deep breath, gun up and go. If you've played paintball before, you know exactly what I'm talking about. A full bore rush of adrenaline, a learning experience, an adventure to the unknown and of course there's nothing better than wearing war paint while talking with the team and sweat dripping down your cheek. Now I'm not sure about you but I like adrenaline. A tangible feeling of emotion and energy mixed with pure insanity. Adrenaline is great. It covers pain and everything our boring lives throws at us. Paintball brings …show more content…
Woods-ball and speedball. Woods-ball is not a ball made of wood but it’s field set on a forest or just surrounded by trees with wooden houses, bridges, walls of many different sizes. Where a game could take from fifteen minutes to hours of how big the fields usually are. Unlike speedball, a game could take a minute is that was the case. Speedball is where all the inflatable bunker are. Bunkers that look like pyramids on one side, a big W down the middle, human size soda cans, and other small ones throughout the rest of the field. We’re spread out pretty well around the field. I’m taking cover behind on a bunker on the center in the very back covering my teammates from all sides. Calling out the position of the enemy team. “Dorito two! 50 Snake! Dorito two on me!” Game is going by smoothly so I think. I see one of my teammates over to my right signaling me to move up. I do as I was told. See a neon green shoe popping out on one of the bunkers to my left. “You’re out!” shouts the ref. Great one down, four more to

Ponyboy was really the first person I could express my opinions to and the first person I could really talk to about how I feel about this stupid social division we have to go by. Even though he doesn’t really understand how we Socs have problems too, I can see that he at least sort of understands- not completely, but just a little… Knowing that he sort of understands is a mixed feeling of relief and just a bit of an absurd feeling as well, I mean, a Soc and a greaser actually having a nice conversation.. I didn’t expect him to actually understand at all, but I also didn’t expect him to be completely ignorant about it either. “Cherry, look what’s coming,” Marcia quickly addressed. I watched the blue Mustang as it was coming down the street.…

Baseball: the sport where you stand around for 20 minutes and move 3 feet to the left and move 3 feet to the right. It’s so intense. It’s so intense that you could take a nap on the field with everything out there. Of course, I’m being sarcastic. The only time it’s actually fun is when you’re annihilating the other team while they’re asleep on the field.…
