The roles I strived to portray were just that of a quintessential freshman, still in the midst of trying to explore all of my options and future endeavors as a young adult. My non physical characteristics consisted of being rather shy, but also quite open minded and ready to listen to other’s stories. I used a relatively large amount of hand gestures to further explain myself and to come off more attentive in a hopeful attempt to make others engage and feel more at ease with the whole “speed dating” exercise we were presented with. These attitudes of seeming interested and accepting, in my opinion, are very important in the occasion of meeting new people so that they feel comfort in conversing with me.
