Giving a speech is not a very simple task to take. Many individuals think that making a speech is just a simple task to take that could be done in minutes but little does one know, that there are many strategies and considerations before performing a speech. Also thinking that no one will ever remember what the person said in their speech but chances are, if the speaker refers something that might offend the audience then the speech will turn out to be offensive to one. Talking in public or in this case in a classroom, need to be taken serious for many variety of subjects like including, careers that requires one to make public speaking. Considering their audiences characteristics such as culture, religion, gender, etc. Without getting this right information, a speech could turn out into something horrible and offensive. For example, making a speech in front of a classroom that consist the topic of same sex marriage, could cause some students to become very uncomfortable due to what they believe. Nor would majority of the students would be able to relate to the topic. Religion is a very touch subject that has to be taken to consideration and have a moment of process. If one thing goes wrong then the whole speech will become totally offensive. Listeners could be very judgement afterwards and assume that the speaker did not take the time to gather all the information about the certain religion. Another thing to consider is how to prepare a legally speech towards an audience. Saying the wrong thing that consist of legal comments could possibly lead to serious consequences. Legal protected speech consist of the speaker being aware of saying the correct words and giving out the correct tone towards and audience. Authors Douglas M. Fraleigh and Joseph S. Also thinking about one 's culture as of what they do what they were raised to do, or/and ethnicity. Beginning a topic that could not relate to one would become difficult to understand. Unless the speaker clearly explains the background to it to help the audience understand thoroughly. Final topic to consider is the gener being involved. Talking about only female subjects in front of a mixed classroom could easily have audience lose interest in the speech that is being given.
