Acceptance Speech This year is an election year, which happens every four years. With the election year, comes acceptance speeches for each party. This year the two people that gave speeches were Hillary Clinton, for the Democrats, and Donald Trump, for the Republicans. They both had to give persuasive speeches that showed what they stood for and what they plan to do in their presidency term. The speeches are supposed to have a major impact on the people watching them and the people giving them want to gain trust and respect from the people that are watching. Thesis statement here. Donald Trump is a business mogul and is now aspiring to be President of the United States. Trump was born on June 14, 1946 in Queens, New York (cite). He went to New York Military Academy, Wharton School of Finance, and Fordham University. After that he began getting involved in building projects located in Manhattan. Trump also starred in The Apprentice, in 2004. He decided to run for presidency in 2015, while catching an unexpected fan base, he became the official Republican candidate. Hillary Clinton is involved in government and is a Women’s rights activist. Clinton was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 26, 1947. Hillary Clinton attended Yale Law School and Wellesley College. Hillary Clinton was the first lady to ever win a public office seat when she was elected to the United States Senate in 2001. Clinton married Bill Clinton in 1975.
