Discrimination can be seen all around the world, and discrimination is shown in poverty when a country starts a caste system. (classes people are put in, and further generations are kept in)

This shows that people have power in deciding which way they are going to go. They truly have the power to be great, or to be a failure. In the article “The Behavioral Aspects of Poverty” Sawhill describes a woman who grew up in North Carolina in which she supported herself by waiting tables at a restaurant, and she also had been making money by becoming a prostitute, and selling drugs. She also shoplifted to get accessories and whatever else she needed. She had become addicted to heroin and had spent time in jail for drug trafficking (Behavioral Poverty, Sawhill, 2003, para 3).
Some tend to choose whether what will happen to them like this woman had, and this is important to understand because, it is that person's decision on whether they are going to get an education, or not to and not have a good
