This allows the citizens to freely practice their religion, but it doesn’t change the social constraints as some of the effects that still linger. It works the same way in India, while untouchability was outlawed in India, people on the social aspect still respond to it as almost as it still exists. Dearborn, Michigan is nationally known as a city with a high concentration of a Muslim population and far too often the citizens of Dearborn have to fight against the majority’s perception on Islam. In April, of 2012 was the first time I personally had experienced seeing something of that sort. Terry Jones is a pastor from Florida had burned the Qur’an which is the holy book for Muslims. No one within the police department agreed that it had supported a racial agenda but more of the founding of their city. The debate about race today is a difficult debate because someone’s intentions are never clear and personal opinions are usually immediately said without another thought. Then came the slogan of “Black Lives Matter”. The slogan itself can be considered a racial comment as it implies that only black lives matter because in reality all lives do matter.
