Mark Twain once said, “Names are not always what they seem.” Whether you share a name with tons of people or virtually no one in the world there’s always some type of history behind it all. I was given the name Hermino which is a Spanish derivative of the ancient Roman name Herminius. Like many people I am the namesake of elder relatives (my grandfather and great-grandfather). In spite of being the namesake of my elders there is not exactly any tradition behind the names only parents who felt that it was right to name their kids after old Hermino.…

Santana, Napoleon American Myth Course Ref: 1374 Journal Entry 1 Thomas Bulfinch stated that, “Without a knowledge of mythology much of the elegant literature of our own language cannot be understood and appreciated”. Many fables of mythology were the first attempts of humanity trying to explain reality. These stories were created to shape society, nature, and to teach lessons. Fables said through generation to generation to explain truth. A truth that is twisted, contorted, and bent with unintentional bias and then colored in with the perspective of an individual.…

My Chinese name is 伍家俊(Wǔ jiā jùn) which translates to a capable person. Like the characters, Willy Loman and John Proctor, I value my name highly because my name defines who I am as a person and how others perceive me. However, I am not willing to go as far as committing suicide or choosing death over my name because while my name is important, I find that living and surviving is a lot more essential. This has to do with the fact that society is so vast nowadays that even if you manage to make a bad reputation for yourself in a school or city, you can still go someplace else and have a clean slate. I somewhat agree with Willy that while your name and reputation does matter in becoming successful, it’s not as important as working hard or the abilities that a person has in the workplace.…

The two brands that I have chosen are coca-cola and Pepsi. These both are the most famous brands of the world and when comparing the blind taste test, none can differentiate between both and love one or the other. But the major difference between coca-cola and Pepsi arises in their brand elements. Some of them are discussed below: brand memorability refers to the memory that we get as soon as we hear the brand name. It is a very important criterion of brand elements.…
