For as long as I can remember, I have intended to pursue a career in health and human services. Since I was eleven years old, I have been volunteering at Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie, Virginia. While trying to consider what career path to take, every one I considered was within the health field. After researching various possible careers, I had my heart set on speech-language pathology by the age of seventeen. Since I decided at that age, I have not once considered a different profession. I am truly committed to the profession of speech-language pathology. Communication is the essence of human life.
