Most people typically have an event or experience in their life when they know what they want to do as a career. For me, this event occurred when I was six years old as I was enrolled in speech therapy. Over the next five years, I attended speech therapy twice a week to alleviate articulation errors. I began to understand the affect speech therapy had on my life as I entered middle school and high school. While I was in speech, I was very reserved and lacked confidence; however, after completing speech therapy, I had the confidence to be a part of extracurricular activities, such as cheerleading and student council.
