J is for the jitters. We’re all nervous about making a difference as we go out into the world and being something bigger than ourselves. For that though, I think Jim Carrey said it best when he said “like many of you, I was concerned with going out into the world and doing something bigger than myself, until someone smarter than myself made me realize that there is nothing bigger than myself. My soul is not contained within the limits of my body; my body is contained within the limitless of my soul”.

V is for veterans. EKU prides itself on supporting veterans, and that’s a tradition we should continue to carry on throughout our lives. Regardless of what war you agree or disagree with, there are countless men and women fighting to keep you safe here at home, to protect our freedom and our way of life. It is our responsibility, our duty, to help veterans when they come back home. We should help them adjust, help them get jobs, and we should always strive to show them the appreciation they deserve. Help, appreciate, and respect every past, present, and future veteran. W is for work. Work is movement, hard work is progress. Hard work works and it’s what successful people do.
