Hello, Rebekah, I attempted Spanish in the 11th grade. After three weeks, I got out. I would have gotten out soon, but it took three weeks to do it. I could not seem to get my tongue to roll properly to pronounce the words. Maybe I should have given French a try. WEWE! Yes, I agree there is little use for French in Texas, but my understanding is a lot of people learn it because it is supposed to be sexy. Good luck with Spanish. You are correct, knowing Spanish in Texas will help you greatly. It great to hear that you and your eight-year-old are learning Spanish together. It can be a bonding experience for both of you.
