Specific phobias are a fear of particular things like animals, natural environments, and blood phobias. A man named Freud and J.B. Watson had a way to explain specific phobias in the early days of psychology with explanatory theory that explained all the types of phobias. This way has opened a new view of different types of phobias can be obtained in many ways.
People who have phobias come to the experts for help about their fears. There are many places or things a person with a phobia can feel uncomfortable about. It might include animals,bridges, restaurants, thunderstorms, and so on. These patients come for treatments because they want to be free from their phobia that has caused them problems in their daily lives. Experts use psychotherapy and exposure therapy to make the patient experience the feared problem over and over until they lose the phobia.
The cause of specific phobia is not known, but it might have to do with a traumatic experience. For example, a person who has been attacked or threaten by an animal will develop a specific phobia. Seeing a traumatic event will cause harm or extreme fear will develop a specific phobia.
