Specific Career Field Training

I once attended training where they set for people who are attending to have a minimum of 3 years in a specific career field. The entire first day of the three day session, the people putting on the course went over basic knowledge that people with 3 years of experience should already know. For a week of training for this audience, I think an entire day review was excessive. I think it is important to know your audiences knowledge levels not only in speaking, but in everyday communication. If you don’t already know then ask. Some people find it really insulting either because they think you are wasting their time, or not giving them enough credit to know what you already know.
