The speciality group I would want to conduct is a trauma group with adults. Because speciality groups are designed for specific and unique populations, being able to focus on traumatic situation in a group setting have been found to be valuable in that regards Gladding, 2012). The theoretical approach that has proven effective is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR addresses issues and problems associated with trauma from relatively minor to extremely debilitating conditions. The technique allows the person to move effectively and safely through stuck emotions engaged during the trauma event (Ricci, & Et al., 2009).
