I am writing this letter to offer my deepest sympathy for the passing of your son,
Specialist Patrick E Boss. He was a true American Soldier that served his country with
honor and dignity. The tragic loss of your son, a friend and Warrior Companion has
been felt by everyone with whom he served. He truly embodied the Army Values
everyday as he strove to be more professional as not only a Soldier but, also as a
caring and compassionate person.
On March 10th 2010, your son was riding in a High Mobility Multipurpose
Wheeled Vehicle on a convoy in route to begin his Rest and Recuperation when he was
attacked. Specialist Boss was wearing all of his protective gear unfortunately, he was
shot in the neck. Immediately he received first aid
