Overall from observing all the different levels and classes, I learned a great deal about dealing with different situations and characters of children of many ages. The entire process of my clearances and school placements was easy. I have been involved in my son’s, now a 4th grader, classrooms since he was in preschool. For most of my observation hours, I had the honor and pleasure to observe at the Montgomery County College Children’s Center. I specifically chose to observe in this center because I am interested in teaching and being involved in young children’s learning adventures. I love how their brains process learning through play and of course, I love children. In my opinion, to be able to teach children, one has to love being around them because if not then teaching is just a monotonous job that would not really make a difference. A teacher should teach children to know that everything - especially learning - is possible if one is willing to put much effort into it. …show more content…
I also want to be able to guide the children with any learning disability to less frustration and most of all love learning and being in school. Education is the key to life, and it starts from before the time a child can speak. Education is a constant daily learning; I see it with myself, even though have done many years of school, I still learn new things every day, and I am amazed and looking forward to learning more by teaching. The children will teach me a lot of amazing life challenges and appreciation for the smallest, silliest things, which to me will be so rewarding. My teaching methods will be to teach children to love books, think outside the box, be involved, be good people, think highly of themselves and most of all challenge themselves to their full potentials because no matter what, they can do anything they put their minds and efforts to

I grew up in an upper-middle class, white, Catholic family, in the middle of suburban Cary, North Carolina. Culture was a term introduced in school with pictures of exotic places and bright wardrobes; history lived inside textbooks with stories of war and migration. My fourth grade family history project contained one piece of information: my great-grandmother sailed to the States from Italy in 1904. The little history and culture introduced by my family showed me who I do not want to become. While the teachings of Christianity shaped me into a compassionate, open-hearted person, I struggle to accept the dogma that followed it.…

Over this past spring semester, I have obtained a total of 75 hours of field experience in the CCC Childcare UPK 1 classroom. My overall impression of the experience is that it truly exposed me to what it’s like caring for and teaching young children, and all the responsibility that accompanies it. I truly enjoyed my time in the UPK 1 classroom and after being there six hours a week, sometimes more, I feel a genuine connection to these children and the classroom. This entire experience taught me a lot, not only about early childhood education, but about myself and what I’m capable of. Working with four and five year olds opened my eyes to a way thinking that I had lost.…

in special education would be to learn about the different types of disabilities and behaviors among my students such as, the bully, the angel, bossy, angry, mental retardation, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, depression, drug abuse, anxiety disorders, autism, etc. First, knowing what the disability is that the student has will better help me as an educator educate them and help them to be the best that they can be. We as educators need to understand why a student acts the way they do and find ways that we can help them so that they can learn and progress at a steady pace. Some techniques that I can use would be de-escalate the cycle of disruption, understand the increase in emotional and behavioral disturbances, identify the cause of the student’s behavior, embrace special needs students, and set high expectations for inclusive classrooms. Becoming an educator is one the noblest professions an individual can go into. A teacher can have a powerful impact in a student’s live, both positive and negative. Teaching is one of the few careers that directly affect the future of our nation, and though this may be considered a cliché, the truth of the matter is that you may have a larger impact on children’s lives than some of their parents. You spend hours upon hours with your students, whereas busy or career-driven parents may not have the same opportunities. Becoming an educator is conducive to your home or family life, allows you to see the potential in students, and perhaps most notably, provides the opportunity for you to essentially mold lives within one short calendar year.…
