According to Kellogg’s, results from a scientific study showed that 3 out of 4 dieters achieved a slimmer waist and hips and lost up to six pounds over a two-week period (Matus, n.d). According to the website Viewpoints, a site where people write personal reviews, the Special K diet was considered to be effective when it came to losing weight at a more rapid pace. With the use of foods that are readily available, it’s quite doable for most people. However, experts do not recommend to continue the diet for a long period time. This diet is high in carbohydrates, and relatively low in fiber, protein, fruits, and vegetables (Zelman, 2017). People trying this diet won’t get all the nutrients needed to maintain a healthy weight loss. In addition, high sugar content may cause extreme hunger due to sugar spikes and can possible lead to overeating. Therefore, this weight loss diet is not recommended as a long-term plan. You may lose weight in 2 weeks, but you’re not guaranteed to keep off that weight a month from now using this diet

Typically, plans supporting a severe reduction in calorie consumption result in decreased energy levels. Extreme weight loss companies may also suggest dangerously low caloric intake trials during the preface (2005). Many interesting facts were brought up in the short video “The Skinny on Obesity.” The first was that many people believe that eating low fat foods or reduced calorie foods would help them lose weight. This is incorrect because the fat or calories that are now missing must have been replaced with something else. For example, the film mentioned how Snackwells have a regular sandwich cookie and a low fat sandwich cookie. Both have the same amount of calories though; therefore that fat that has been reduced must have been replaced.…
