In chapter one, the reading discussed the changes in special education, teacher, learner, and content interaction, and finally a summary of the chapter. There have been major changes in special education over the years. The changes in legislation allowed all students to have access to appropriate public education and schools were no longer allowed to turn a student away based on any sort of prejudice. These changes led to the public’s perception of people requiring special education to change for the better.
