My lesson consisted first of a warm-up where students wrote on a piece of paper what they know about what a learning disability is and what types of learning disabilities. Then I proceeded with my lesson and taught the students what learning disabilities are, problems that students who have a learning disabilities may have, and types of learning disabilities. Third, I proceeded with my activity, which was unscrambling sentences. Next, I showed the students a video to sum up the lesson. Finally, I assigned the students homework which would be to write a lesson plan. However, there were some parts of my lesson that went well and did not go well. Also, if I were to teach the lesson again there is some parts that I would keep and others that I would change. …show more content…
While planning my lesson, I thought that I did not have enough time to cover all the content that I wanted to cover. I was very happy that I finished my lesson two minutes early because it made me feel that I did good job planning. On the other hand, there was a part of my lesson that did not go well. I was very nervous to teach my lesson which caused me to shake and talk extremely fast. Since I talked to fast and shook, it was harder for my students to concentrate. After I taught my lesson, I realized I need to be more confident because if I am not more confident and calm, my students will not be able to gain the knowledge they need. I can relate to Jeffrey Gallet’s story and am not surprised by the lack in resources, time school staff utilized to actually work with him on a particular concept(s) that he struggled with, and the verbal abuse that he received, due to the learning disability(ies) that he possessed. I was inspired by his story. It moved me so much so that I desire to share my grade school story with the class. I did not have a learning disability that I knew of, but I did have a lot going on outside of the four walls of the classrooms that I sat in. This made it difficult for me to stay focused on the concepts being taught within my classes.…

Based on data I collected from coach observations, peer observations, and feedback I decided to focus on OETF indicator 1.B.1: Plans meaningful tasks that require student ownership. Upon determining that indicator and creating a teacher practice goal based on the data I collected, I began to further breakdown my observation feedback and use that as a baseline level. I noticed from my initial feedback that all of my students were not engaging in the task completely. I felt as though I could better support my students as I want them to all feel successful. In order to do that I worked with my coach and reflected on my task and how it could be adapted in the planning stage to be more meaningful.…

When I delivered the teaching session, the experience was an overall success with students showing a clear interest and engaging in the lesson (Table 1, question 10, mean 4.3). The teaching began with a clear introduction to the key learning points for the whole session (Table 1, question 5, mean 4.3), which allowed the students to understand what the session was going to entail. This was beneficial to those who needed to see the big picture to see how topics fit together[1]. I further explained that the session will be split into three sections and explained that certain learning outcomes will be covered in each section. Student feedback stated that there was “enthusiastic teaching in appropriate sized teaching bites.”…

In the UK more and more parents are finding themselves having to put their children who have learning disabilities into mainstream education. One of the main reasons for this is that the government have not got enough money to fund schools or to train teachers to look after children who have these learning disabilities. Another reason for the increase in children with learning disabilities in mainstream education is that there are not enough schools to take in these children. Also the ones we have are already full and almost at breaking point. More and more classes around the UK have at least one or two children with a learning disability, and people are beginning to think about the affect they have on the class, one the teachers and on the…

There are many children disabled children in the United States . They show interest in joining regular classrooms, instead of being in separate classes. There are many different types of disabilities, but if all disabled children become more active and interact with other children it will benefit not only the disabled but also the people they interact with . I know this from research and personal experience with family members with disabilities. School boards should put disabled children into regular classrooms and other activities.…

Having an effective lesson plan should be one of the most important things that every teacher should strive to have. When teachers have an effective lesson plan it provides them with a guide for teaching a lesson. This allows for the least amount of distractions because having a lesson plan keeps teachers on track. It also allows for teachers to track students’ progress. Teachers can also set and achieve goals that they want their child students to learn by writing it down in their lesson plans.…
