Special Dinner On Thanksgiving Day

Decent Essays
I was invited to a special dinner on Thanksgiving Day. I ate delicious food and also learned how to cook real American food. I was surprised with Turkey, it's so huge. We prepared this event for the week, it was a good party. We talked a lot and exchanged the cultural from each country. Thanks for a great experience in the state. I hope God blesses all of you to have a good and healthy life. Thank you so much "Janet", you are like our American Mom. #GratefulDay #ThanksgivingDay #NiceNeighbor

Thanksgiving, a holiday deeply rooted in American culture, is celebrated in accordance with the applicable tradition and rituals. Closely related to the tradition of first immigrants, Thanksgiving does not undergo any fashions and fluctuations. Thanksgiving Turkey has to be big ( 19 lbs) to feed 20 people and to provide much more food than during the regular meal (Friends). Thanksgiving dinner without turkey and typical dishes does not exist, like “4th July with no pie”(Friends). By consuming and celebrating food, people show their appreciation for all they achieved due to their social and national affiliation.…

Me and three of my friends surveyed each other and we talk to each other about are Thanksgiving traditions and what we do with our families and friends. We compared it with the traditions the early americans did and what we found was totally different from what happens now. One thing that was different they do not watch football, ride golf carts, go karts or anything like that. One thing that was similar was we spent time with our families and friends and something they did that we did not do was eat dinner with the Indians. Something else that was also similar was we have turkey, ham, stuffing, and pie and other foods too they also had cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie they also had vegetables like beans, lettuce, spinach,…

My Aunt Lori prepares most of the traditional food that is made, but all I know is that it would not be a real Thanksgiving if she did not have a big bowl of her ranch green beans prepared for us. My mother makes the mac and cheese that was my father’s, mom’s recipe, and it is absolutely delicious. While food is cooking, my cousins and I play all sorts of board games, then our parents, and even grandparents, join in. It is a great feeling to know that you are surrounded by such good people. Like Anny, I will forever have these memories of my family and am glad I have developed these experiences.…

When speaking to Isuara “Mikaela” Carro, she seemed to be very busy with her little nephew. We began talking about our plans for Thanksgiving and what we will be doing throughout the day. We also talked about how many people would be visiting or in attendance for Thanksgiving dinner. We also spoke about the last session we had, and she said she was very excited to have been able to attend a session and see us up there on line. I asked her what her parent’s reactions were to her joining a sorority, and she said that when they find out that she joined a sorority that they were completely fine with it.…

Thanksgiving dinner in my family is a big deal all our family and friends gather around to celebrate. There is always plenty of food, drinks, music and laughter. My family is loud, crazy and not afraid to voice their opinions so there is always drama at every dinner or family event. I chose to write on this because I never payed attention to detail or interactions at these dinners like why the women cook? Or why it is important that we are all together.…

It is Thanksgiving, a day to give thanks for all we have been blessed with, yet all some can seem to do is complain about the family they will have to endure today when some have no family to even think of spending the day with. Or how so and so pissed them off so they are boycotting thanksgiving! Well that's all fine and dandy but think of all the ones who would give everything to have one more holiday with a loved one gone too soon, or Military men and women serving far away and can't be with their families at all, or the military families that live too far away to make a trip home. I know of too many people my age that have lost parents, siblings, children and spouses this year to be ungrateful! I am blessed beyond what I deserve.…

We're leaving for Tennessee on 17th we were on the road but the drive was silent because everybody was occupied rather it was playing the game or listening to music. I was just looking out the window enjoying the view there were alot of trees and water around and the sky was a little bit of blue and a little bit of pink which meant the sun was leaving until the next morning.…

The arrival of fall is approaching and my excitement is shouting . The feeling of goosebumps start to go up and down my arms when I walk outside enough to give me chills, the breeze moves my hair in a gentle way. The smell of the air starts to consist of pumpkin spice and cinnamon making me lick my lips. The trees start to stand out with vibrant colors, and the leaves fall like rain falls in the spring. All the time and effort put into every leaf to be racked just to be destroyed by a one jump leaves me with sore callus.…

The theme of death is evident in countless works of literature. Kazuo Ishiguro develops this theme in his short story, “A Family Supper” in a unique and effective way. " A Family Supper" foreshadows by informing the reader that there is a possibility of another death occurring in addition to the death of the narrator’s mother. Ishiguro alludes to this theme by explaining in detail how the consumption of Fugu fish can be fatal and how prominent death is in the life of the narrator’s family.…

Hospitality To begin the project on Hospitality, I read a couple of articles. The first, Hospitality – a Very Christian Virtue by Gill Robins, talked about the Biblical sense of hospitality and how we are to accept and include others. She gave some examples of how a lack of hospitality can lead to conflict between people. Robins’ article did not emphasize what to do to be hospitable, as much as why we are to be hospitable.…
