First off, I will address one of Sparta’s biggest weaknesses:
They lacked any significant formal education.

Provided they weren’t abandoned in the woods as a baby for being apparently “weak”, at only age 7, Spartan boys were taken away from their families and placed in an agoge, a Spartan war training group of many young boys, from ages 7 to 20. In the agoge, they were abused, beaten, and underfed, to try and make them tough and gain a confidence to conquer in battle. They were put against each other in war games, more often than not resulting in death. Keep in mind that many of them were kids younger than anyone in this
