Every parent or guardian wants his or her child to behave when they are in public or at home. Some parents believe that spanking their children is an easy way to discipline them. Corporal punishment tends to cause physical pain on a person such as spanking, flogging, or caning. Some parents believe that spanking their child to the maximum is an easy way to discipline them. Others believe there is a limit to spanking a child in order to correct their behavior. On the other hand there are people who believe that there are many different ways to make a child understand without laying a hand on them. Corporal punishment should not be applied because it may cause the child to rebel, it can cause trauma, and it can also lead to depression.

Some parents believe that spanking the child is an easier alternative and faster way for them to learn .Spanking a child may stop whatever irritating/treacherous/prohibited behavior he or she may be doing at the moment, but spanking is not a long term effect; it is more likely for the child to repeat the unacceptable behavior more than once.
