Children need to be raised and educated in the best positive surroundings because they are the hope of the future. Therefore, parenting is one of the most inspiring and praiseworthy responsibilities that one can experience. Parents have a significance role in development of child’s character, emotions, and behavioral manner. When I was growing up, my parents believed spanking was the best possible solution for a child who would disobey. I clearly remember, after my misbehavior my dad would put me in a room and spank me with a stick like thing. The impact of the stick had a physical and emotional influence on me because it frightened me and I hated it as a child. Spanking is a common form of discipline even in loving households, but usually the child may be too young to understand the reasoning behind it and will feel confused. For example, my parents genuinely believed that spanking was parental right and it was best for the troublesome child. However, after some spank-controlled correction, I became reserved. Spanking made me feel weaker and overpowered by my parents. Parents will help their child feel good and valued, but once the child receives spanks for unwanted behavior, they may carry negative connotations with that such as “I must be bad.” Therefore, instead of trying to win or lose a battle with my daughter, I try to work together to find a more appropriate resolution. For example, if she wanted candy in the morning, I would simply state my position first and then suggest her some choices. This makes her think she has some authority over the
