Something that I learn from the book that by age 14, there is a 94% chance that they have been spanked (McCoy & Keen, 2014). I am surprised at how high this number is, especially by the age 14. It just does not make sense to me why parents would want to spanking their kid. There are so many other ways to discipline your child, such as grounding them or time outs. There is never a good enough reason to hit your child. What kind of message are you sending your child when you spank them? How do you think you are possibly helping your kid by spanking them? When you spank your child, all you teach them is that it is okay to hit others. It is such a terrible thing that this is happening at such a young age because this is when children are learning
