I however found out about Castros achievments and goals for his students while taking a Chicano Studies class during the Spring. The quote that you used does express what many would have felt if they gave up the cause of keeping their culture alive since if they did not then who knows if Spanish would have spoken currently or if any other cultural language would be for the matter. Espanola is a small town where I am from. Since I’ve lived there, I never came across someone where I thought to myself, “Wow I want to be just like that guy!” I’m a highly misunderstood individual, and it might sound like I’m throwing people under the bus. I’m not saying I’m better than anyone else, I just learned to follow my own steps.…

I also learned many transitions are only useful for certain sentences. For example, I wouldn’t be able to use the transition word “finally” at the beginning of my introduction Moreover, I have also learned to make the title of my essays more interesting and strong. My revision reflects this because when I was peer reviewing, many of my classmates told me to add an exclamation point after America to make my title stronger. Furthermore, I have also learned to put titles in quotation marks, even when they are in the middle of a…

These are very important to know how to write properly because many teachers have asked us to write these types of essays and I never really understood what I was doing until we learned the key components in English Comp. In California, specifically Southern California, two of the most widely spoken languages are English and Spanish. Often in the past, scholars as well as regular people, made theories and assumptions regarding languages.…

I noticed this two years ago when I moved here with my family. We can define and recognize people from other countries, but still we try to communicate in the best possible way and to learn the meaning of special words when we are talking to them. Inside the United States, we have lots of different communities, such as American, Black, Hispanic, and others. The interesting thing about this is that inside them we have lots of sub-communities which have their own dialects. For example, in American there are differences in speech in the different states, and even inside one state.…
