Sports in Spain

Spain is the home of some of the most unique sports in Europe. Out of all the sports played in Spain, Soccer, bullfighting, and skiing are the most popular. These three sports are very frequently watched and played in spain and make it the jewel of Europe. Soccer or futbol is the heart of Spain, and many people consider it to be the national sport of Spain. Spaniards play soccer like any other country would, with a ball, two goals, and the rule that you are only allowed to use your hands. Although the rules are exactly the same, people in Spain take soccer very seriously. If someone on the soccer team messes up, they become a disgrace to the team. Since many Spaniards spend their whole life playing soccer, it is also one one of their main professions. Spain is the birthplace of one of the most popular and respected soccer leagues in the world, La Liga. La Liga houses two of the Greatest soccer clubs ever, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. Spain’s international soccer team is also a very successful team and has won one world cup in 2010. Even though soccer is just a sport to us, it is a part of everyday life for Spain.

Bullfighting is an entertaining and hardcore sport that has been outlawed in many countries. The game starts when one brave fighter and one bull enter an arena. The fighter is given a yellow and red flag in which he uses to get the bull to charge at him. The fighter has to dodge the bull and entertain the audience thus risking his life. Finally the game ends when the judges are satisfied and the fighter is given a sword in which he kills the bull with. The fighter is awarded with flowers and coins for his bravery.
