The fate of the world changed when the space race happened in the mid 1900’s. The space race was really important because it helped make headway in space discovery. There might not be space stations or satellites if it didn’t happen. Not only was it a competition between different countries, but it helped scientists from all over the world learn more about outer space! The Space Race Era took place between 1957 and 1990. President Eisenhower created NASA in 1958 and the mission was to advance space efforts against the Soviet Union.
