Space programs and space exploration should be better funded by the government. Although there needs to be a decrease in government spending on programs because of the government deficit, NASA should not have received such a large portion of their program spending cut.
NASA has possible plans for the future, as it is most likely that Earth will reach its carrying capacity at some point. NASA indicated that human overpopulation could ease by developing "space- based colonies." This, if funded, could solve a monumental potential threat to the world.
The government has made huge cutbacks to funding NASA, although NASA spends lower than 1% of the federal budget. Much of the reason for this is that most Americans have a misconstrued idea about how much NASA's budget is. NASA is a limb of the government body and is as important as any other program funded by the government. Therefore, should be as equally …show more content…
NASA not only expands human perception of the universe, but is also useful in other forms such as agriculture and computer science. The Upper Midwest Aerospace Consortium, led by the University of North Dakota, uses images from the International Space Station Agricultural Camera (ISSAC) from Earth to help farmers oversee crop growth for disease or fertility differences. Computer science produces many pathways in the occupation of space exploration. Mark Maimone has a Ph.D. in computer science from Carnegie Mellon University and has developed the software that facilitated NASA's Mars Exploration Rovers and the Mars Science Laboratory to drive safely even in the way of unexpected
