Space Exploration Argumentative Essay

The solar system is a vast and wondrous place. There are many things to explore and things that still need to be discovered. So much money is going to space exploration and organizations such as NASA, and less is going to organizations that need it like American Legion, and Make A Wish Foundation. Going into space allows scientists to discover new things and possibly new worlds, but the earth needs to be taken care of first, before going out and discovering a place where oxygen can even be breathed in. Instead of sending billion dollar rockets into space and using american taxpayers money to fund organizations like NASA to do this, the government fists needs to consider more important things that space exploration. The U.S government needs to realize that there are more important things than going into space, such as funding for veterans, funding for health and also taking care of the Earth. …show more content…
Many are coming home with no family to go to and no job to help support themselves. Many veterans come home and suffer from PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) and they need help, but can not get it. Only about $0.03 are going to veterans benefits and services (Source C). These men and women who serve the United States are much more important to help, than to explore space. Helping the veterans and their families first makes a bigger impact on america that space exploration will. Helping out veterans before funding space could help America grow in jobs and help more veterans get the homes and the help that they need in and out of service. Money should not be funding space as much as it should be, but funding people who are serving, once served or are still risking their lives
