Life in the South was very different then to lives up in the North. The transportation for the North was a bit different than the transportation in the South. For the North and South the society was very different. In the South the geography was different than the geography in the North. Ultimately the transportation difference played a role in the development in the North and South. Section 6 describes how most of the north was covered by railroad tracks. It also tells us that congress funded the construction of a National Road across the Appalachian Mountains. Section 7 describes how the towns and cities in the South sprung up along waterways.
