2016, students that are attending Southern Illinois University-Carbondale (SIUC) are forced to experience racism. Gordon (2015) has done extensive amount of research on racism throughout America. The only issue is no one can seem to pin point exactly why it is still lingering around. There are a thousands of colored students that are being victimized for the color of their skin and not the content of their character. This paper will analyze cultural markers (three photos-Appendix 1, 2, 3) that administer racism, sexism, and discrimination on the campus of SIUC. Additionally proposing research using ways to develop assistance to future practitioners dealing with racism, sexism, and discrimination within any institution.
