The Crux, or Southern Cross as it is more commonly known, is the smallest of the 88 constellations. I've have chosen it as it is the Constellation that I am always able to find. This is because it is a distinctive constellation, the stars within it form a cross that is visible from the Southern Hemisphere all year round. The points of the Southern Cross are formed by consist of four stars. These are called Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta Crucis. Throughout history it has served as a navigation device, providing direction for travellers.
