But as I grew, and began to really understand who I wanted to be and what these shows really stand for. This show’s goal seems to be to offend as many as possible, and it has succeeded. The episode ‘The Death Camp of Tolerance’ is one that I find particularly offensive, with themes of ridicule of sexuality, race, and genocide, all in a single episode. Another example is a mockery of terrorist attacks, such as September 11th, 2001 in episode “The Mystery of the Urinal Deuce” which spreads the idea that the attack was planned entirely by the United States government. The messages that South Park releases regarding its government has the ability to cause viewers to question the motives of the United States’ government in real life. This series has mocked, degraded, insulted, and blasphemed every moral, teaching, and value that I respect, as well as anything and everything else. There may be individuals on the other side of the argument who say that banning the show would be violating their constitutional rights. So, as a recommendation, if not ban the shows, make it so that they are only available by downloading or buying them through a specific number of retailers that sell only to those over a strict age limit. This way people will still be able to see their show but it will be kept away from children and those who really don’t enjoy it. If South Park is planning to continue airing on television, directors must change its entire show by removing this dark humor. I believe that your show has greater potential, but as of now, it should not be allowed to promote such
