"South Boston Korean War Memorial" is located in South Boston, Massachusetts nearby the Fourth Independence. A. Monti Granite Company did this sculpture in 1993 to honor the twenty men from South Boston who lost their lives in the Korean War around the 1950s. As it is a memorial sculpture, A. Monti Granite Company used granite as a way of conveying a special meaning. The sculpture was strategically orientated by its artist to ensure it is not damaged by excessive sun exposure. Since the sun rises from behind the sculpture, the artist did not see any need for protecting the artwork using some shading techniques.
