We made a team and had a interview with Wang Xiaofei, the chairman of South Beauty, one of the largest chain restaurant corporation in China. This is a family enterprise, which is owed by Wang Xiaofei’s mother, Zhang Lan. South beauty attracted Chinese media’s eyes in 2010 as Wang Xiaofei got married with a famous Chinese actress. Since that, it expanded its business to Tai Wan. As far as I know, operating chain restaurants in china is very hard due to the competition. In hospitality industry, inventory control is very important for companies in this industry. When the inventory data is centralized in the ERP system, purchasing department can keep track on the inventory situation in each hotel and purchase and delivery inventory to each hotel before the inventory runs out. The costs of inventory should be lower when the company buys all inventory as a whole instead of distributing the purchasing power to each hotel because suppliers always provide more discounts for larger deals.
