Answer: I think a sourcing leader should be having almost all the traits and qualities of a highly effective leader, he should be well versed, he should be experienced, he should be able to improvise, he should be a good team player, he should be sensitive to the needs of the customers and the market demand, and should have an eye for the ever changing trends in sourcing.

The advantages of outsourcing appear glaringly evident, touted by specialists over various commercial enterprises as the response to cutting expenses for business capacities running from data innovation to bookkeeping, showcasing and HR; it appears to be conceivable that one can run a whole organization while never contracting a solitary representative. The challenges today that are being faced by the international companies require them to be proactive, expand and venture into new markets. When we talk about new and emerging markets India, Indonesia, Philippines and China are the front runner. Expanding and venturing into Asia pacific means addressing new challenges and one of them is use of enabling technologies. The use of enabling technologies have brought about a revolution in the field of outsourcing in the recent years this includes the use of collaborative software’s aswell. With reference to the service providers conducting teleconference with clients abroad to setup and run business operations, being able to hold meetings with a number of participants and stake holders simultaneously, being able to share data and application software’s has greatly helped and provided impetus to many business using outsourcing in this day and age. In case of companies who are increasingly using enabling technologies they are able to cut down costs associated with hiring employees, training them, providing them with benefits, retirement plans. Outsourcing helps them focus on their core competences, it provides them with leverage to benefit from the experience of a team of professionals in the field of Information Technology. One might have somebody in their office that is really great with PCs or bookkeeping, however undoubtedly these were not the occupations he or she was employed to do.
