Skilled influencers understand the imperativeness of fully engaging all six sources of influence. Influencers are goal-oriented and results-driven. They cautiously track progress made towards achieving the goal and continuously measure their overall success. Although influencers may utilize different channels of influence, all influencers understand the importance of adhering to the six sources of influence. The three main areas of influence include personal, social, and structural whereas the two drivers of human behavior are one's ability and one's motivation. Both involve the concept of socialization, which is "predominately an unconscious process by which a newborn child learns the values, beliefs, rules, and regulations of society or internalizes the culture in which it is born. To be "social," an individual must be able to relate to society, meaning they fully engage with other people. Being "social" is crucial to a person's overall well-being. Instead, social motivation enables an individual to connect and share with others that desire similar results.
