1. According to Source B what was the impact of the Non-Aggression pact on Germany and the USSR?
The Non-Aggression pact meant that Hitler was able to, “obliterate Poland and to drive victory in the west.” where he expects victory to surround him and successfully expand and build his empire. For the Soviet Power, it meant that they were able to move west into central Europe with Germany clearing the way for them.
2. What conclusions can be drawn from Source D about the likely outcome on the Non-Aggression pact? Explain?
The conclusions drawn from source D about the likely outcomes of the non-aggression pact is that it was going to be short lived due the hatred of each other and how they only signed over the invasion of Poland. …show more content…
The cartoon shows a wolf (Nazi Germany), a bear (Soviet Russia) and Little Red Riding Hood who is Poland. For a historian the limitations are it is only about Russia, Germany and Poland which means that the historian does not know what the reactions are for the other countries that were in the war were at that time. The uses are that it implies that Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia are in an alliance because they are in bed together. The historian can tell it’s not a normal alliance due to the metaphor of the animals, a wolf is quick, stealthy, and cunning and a bear is large, slow and lumbering. This means that perhaps Nazi Germany were on the wrong side of the war due to the hatred of Russia Germany have on them. Another use a historian can point out is what Poland’s reaction was to this alliance, as shown on the cartoon Poland is like WOW! A final use for a historian is that Poland is Little Red Riding Hood which means they are the prey for Russia and Germany. This shows that they are next to be attacked and invaded by Nazi Germany and Soviet
