Her main goal is to get out and find her sister. The other comparation that I am making with this book is the the 2012 musical movie, “Les misérables”, directed by Tom Cooper.…

One strong theme that both stories share that might be more of a coincidence is the theme on predators. In “The Bear” Old Ben is descripted as a powerful force of nature that was even said to be invulnerable to bullets. A force to be wrecking with and helped symbolically balance out the human desire for urbanization. As seen with the deforestation of the forest after its death. In The Carnivore Way, the take is similar but with more realistic emphasis on how carnivores work, how they adapt, and there importance on the environment.…

Throughout history, time travel has been seen as an idea of the future, but that we are far along from it. In the short story “A Sound of Thunder” by Ray Bradbury, it made that idea possible. Taking place in 2055, the idea of time travel has long been mastered and is now used to recreational purposes. In this situation, it was being used for hunting extinct animals from the past, without messing up the future or the past in anyway. They were very diligent when this operation took place to make sure nothing was altered or major consequences would have taken place.…

Introduction: One may not realize that a person is living in isolation, especially if they are seen around people. It is quite a wonder that one can be quite alienated from normal life or people while still living around them. More so, it is surprising how a person could just choose to live indoors because of his phobia and be happy enjoying his own company. In the two works of literature, The Pleasure of my Company by Steve Martin and The Catcher in the Rye by J.D Salinger, this theme has been expressed in different ways. While Martin in his book, The Pleasure of My Company expresses the theme of isolation by developing a protagonist who is confined from the normal social life like other people with his fears, Salinger develops such a character…

Ray Bradbury once said, “I don’t try to describe the future. I try to prevent it.” He wrote many science fiction stories about the future and they normally never ended well. We should listen and try to avoid the futures he wrote about in The Pedestrian, The Veldt, There will come Soft Rains, and A Sound of Thunder. If we don’t, we might end up like the characters from the stories.…

The Sniper and Cranes have differences that give two opposite ideas of the story. The main focus of The Sniper targets the civil war and the repercussions that follow it, whereas Cranes focuses on the loyalty one has to family and friends. The Sniper expresses the toll the war has taken on the soldier and how it affects him by giving detail about the feelings and thoughts he has about the war. The author wants the reader to know that the sniper is dedicated to his duty and does not think twice about the decisions he has to make. In Cranes, the opposite occurs; Songsam goes out of his duty and gives Tokchae the chance to escape instead of taking him to be killed, as he volunteered to do in the first place.…
