The one component that I find Gonzaga to be most faithful to is the message it delivers in the first paragraph of its Mission Statement when Gonzaga indicates, “In keeping with its Catholic, Jesuit, and humanistic heritage and identity, Gonzaga models and expects excellence in academic and professional pursuits and intentionally develops the whole person -- intellectually, spiritually, physically, and emotionally.” The reason why I find this part of the Mission Statement to be Gonzaga’s most faithful is because of how dedicated all of Gonzaga’s faculty and staff are towards enriching its students with the values that make up the identity of a “Zag”. Students at Gonzaga differ from other college students because our livelihoods as a university revolve around being polite and respectful towards others. We do the little things such as holding the door open for others, developing personal relationships with our professors and priests, and assisting other students with homework that distinguishes us from other college students. I have developed in so many different areas that I would have never fathomed at the start of my freshman year, but I will always cherish the opportunity I was given to attend Gonzaga because of how enlightening and exciting it has been for me to learn how to develop my social skills, faith, and physical/emotional well-being if it weren’t for the opportunity to attend a university like Gonzaga who embodies and places these values at the forefront of its mission in addition to providing an education necessary for us to attain a long-standing career in the
